The newest addition to the RC stable - TT Raptor 50 V2
Hmm, it might take a while to make this resemble a helicopter
Brings both wood and carbon fiber blades
Carbon fiber is so pretty
Making progress
That sort of looks like a helicopter, if you squint. And while you're squinting you look at a picture of a helicopter.
The monster radio. I think with this I can probably control God.
So many small parts. And bearings. Bearings everywhere.
Assembled washout assembly
More bearings
Progress continues. Still doesn't really look like a helicopter.
Coolest-looking part in the box: Swash Plate (arr)
The main shaft makes it look a little closer. But not really.
Whoever invented the helicopter probably went through the same self-doubt as the guy that invented the automatic transmision. "That's so complicated I've already forgotten how it's supposed to work."
0.50 cubic inches of fury (OK, and fastness)
Hah, who needs the optional "Piston Lock Tool"? I made my own.
Blast! Maybe I'm not as clever as I thought. It doesn't look like much, but that little dent keeps the piston from going up the cylinder, which might limit the model's speed somewhat.
Rotor head assembly assembly in progress
Come on, was it really necessary to include non-sealed ball bearings in the design? Now you're just adding complexity for humor's sake.
It's safe to stop squinting now.
Completed rotor head assembly
The damage wasn't too bad and was probably reparable... Until I took it to the hobby shop and the guy said "I don't think there's a problem" and forced the engine to turn, that is.
Now THAT'S a helicopter.
Blades stowed for storage
Blades extended
It's just a little naked now, is all
Beautiful, useful piece of technology
I think it would have been worth it to invest in that pair of ball link pliers.
Ready and eager to go
